There are multiple explanations for this phenomenon, most famously known is the Abraham-Hicks’ Law of Attraction. We know of people, places, and situations that feel good to be around. This increase in appreciation and positivity makes you more pleasant to be around and has a way of attracting more positive things into your life…. Well, the same goes for your thoughts– they can either bring out the very best or the very worst in you.
The easiest and most widely accepted explanation for this, however, is the simple idea that no one wants to be around a sad sack. We also know of people, places, and situations that we’d rather avoid. A small one is fine, but find one that you really like. Keep the notebook near your bed or place where you rest. Each evening (or morning), write down 3 things you were grateful for in the previous day. The choice is ultimately yours which thoughts you decide to “hang out” with.
It may be about yourself, it may be about your partner, it may be about your past relationships, or even about your friends or family. Too often, though, many of us tend to become immersed in that place of lack.
Right now I am in the middle of reading the second of Paul Selig’s series of channeled texts, The Book of Love & Creation. As someone who studied behavioral psychology as an undergrad, I was intrigued by these ideas and almost immediately purchased this book. I’ve recommended it to several people so far and I was moved enough to sit my butt in front of the computer and write this post for REAL rather than writing it in my head.I’m not going to go into great detail as to what the book discusses. It’s taking me a while to get through because the text is dense and filled with messages that require time to think through, digest, and begin to embody in every day life. The concept of creating your own existence is reiterated throughout this text.
I’ve mentioned this a few times previously because I’ve been able to make some important connections to the reading I’ve done and the work I am trying to do at this point in time.
